Every AI for Slack

Overview

Every AI for Slack puts the same agent you chat with in the app directly into your Slack workspace. DM it for a private conversation, or @mention it in a channel so your whole team can see the answer. What You Can Do:

• Ask anything you’d ask in the Every app — invoices, clients, deals, expenses, reports
• DM Every AI for a private, continuous conversation (like your in-app chat)
• @mention @Every AI in any channel it’s been invited to — it answers in a thread, visible to everyone there
• Paste a screenshot or attach a file (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, and more) — the agent reads it, same as in-app chat
• Get rich cards for things like invoices, with an Open in Every button that jumps straight to the record
• Approve or deny consequential actions (like sending an invoice) with buttons right in Slack

How It Works

One Slack workspace connects to one Every organization. Each person then links their own Slack identity to their own Every account — so when you ask a question, the agent answers as you, and can only see what you could already see in Every. That means two teammates asking the same question can get different answers: each person sees their own data, with their own permissions, exactly like in the app.

Connecting Your Workspace (Admin)

An organization admin connects Slack once for the whole team: Go to Agent Settings → Connections → find the Slack card → Connect your Slack workspace → review the Slack consent screen → Allow. That’s it — the workspace is now linked to your Every organization. You can disconnect at any time from the same card, which immediately stops the bot for everyone.

Linking Your Account (Everyone)

The first time you DM Every AI or @mention it in a channel, it replies with a one-time sign-in link:

1. Click the link — it opens Every and asks you to sign in (if you aren’t already)
2. Your Slack identity is now bound to your Every account
3. Go back to Slack and ask your question again — from now on, every answer runs as you

You only do this once. If you’re in the Slack workspace but not a member of the Every organization, the sign-in link won’t complete — ask your admin to invite you (see Team Access below).

Using It Day to Day

​

Direct Messages — private, continuous

A DM with Every AI works like your in-app chat: one continuous private conversation that remembers context. Ask follow-ups naturally — “what about last month?” works because it remembers what you were just talking about. Use it for: anything you’d rather keep private — revenue questions, drafting a sensitive email, checking overdue invoices.

Channels — public, threaded

@mention @Every AI in any channel it’s been invited to (/invite @Every AI). It answers in a thread on your message, and everyone in the channel can read it. Each thread is its own conversation. Use it for: questions the whole team should see — “@Every AI what’s our pipeline looking like this week?” in your sales channel.

Rich cards and links

When the agent references a record like an invoice, it posts a card with the key details and an Open in Every button that takes you straight to that record in the app.

Approvals

Consequential actions — like actually sending an invoice to a client — don’t just run. The agent posts Approve / Deny buttons in the thread first. Only the person who asked can click them; the agent proceeds only on Approve.

What the Bot Can (and Can’t) See

Every AI for Slack is deliberately narrow about what it reads:

• It only sees messages addressed to it — your DMs with it, and messages that @mention it
• It does not read channel history. Inviting it to a channel doesn’t let it see the conversation — only the messages that mention it
• Attachments work like in-app chat — screenshots and images are read visually; documents (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, and more) are processed as files. Up to 10 files per message, 20MB each. It only ever reads files in messages addressed to it — never your workspace’s other files

Team Access — Who Can Use It

Access to the bot follows your Every organization membership, not your Slack membership:

• Anyone in the Slack workspace can see the bot and read its channel answers
• Only members of your Every organization can ask it anything

So if a channel has ten people and five of them have Every accounts in your organization, those five can talk to the agent — the other five can read along but will hit a sign-in prompt if they try to ask. To give a teammate access: invite them to your Every organization first. Go to Settings → Organization, open the Team section, and invite them by email. Once they’ve joined, they link their Slack identity like everyone else and they’re in.

Disconnecting

To Disconnect: Agent Settings → Connections → Slack → Disconnect. This immediately stops the bot for the whole workspace. Your Every data is untouched, and you can reconnect anytime.
