Overview

The Daily Brief is a “chief of staff” morning email. Rather than a one-line inbox summary, Every reads across your whole workspace — invoices, proposals, payments, clients, calendar, email, and your pipeline — and writes you a short, editorial readout: what moved overnight, what needs your attention today, and what your Heartbeat routines did while you were away. It’s the headline routine in Heartbeat, and it’s the place the rest of your routines report up to.

What It Synthesizes

The brief cross-references several sources into one narrative, so you see connections a dashboard wouldn’t surface (for example, “your 10am is with the client whose proposal is heating up”). It draws on:
AreaWhat it pulls in
Needs attention nowOverdue invoices, stale drafts, unpaid bookings, unbilled time/expenses, top clients who’ve gone quiet, total accounts-receivable outstanding.
What changedPayments received, proposals viewed or accepted, new clients added, and a digest of what your other Heartbeat routines did since your last brief.
Ahead todayToday’s client meetings (cross-referenced with open work), expiring proposals, and recurring invoices due to run.
PipelineProspects pending your review, leads and opportunities, and contacts ready to be scanned — from Prospecting & Pipeline.
Email & calendarRecent inbox threads needing a reply and today’s calendar, pre-fetched so the brief can connect the dots between them.
The email is organized into three blocks:
  1. Narrative — a few editorial paragraphs on what’s notable today.
  2. Your move — 1–3 concrete actions, each with a link that opens an Every Agent chat pre-loaded with the context (draft a reply, follow up on an invoice, review a prospect).
  3. Heartbeat snapshot — a compact footer with your money, pipeline, and schedule at a glance, plus one line per routine that ran.
The brief is grounded — every name, number, and meeting comes from your real data. On a quiet day it’s a single sentence rather than padded filler.

Private to Each Person

The Daily Brief is per-user and private. In a multi-member workspace, each teammate enables and receives their own brief, written from their own email, calendar, and the work they own. Your brief and its thread are visible only to you — they aren’t shared with the rest of the workspace the way other Heartbeat routines are.

Configure It

  1. Open Agent Settings → Heartbeat.
  2. Toggle Daily Brief on. It’s delivered by email by default.
  3. Set the time of day you want it to arrive (it respects your timezone).
Open the brief’s thread from Every Agent to read past briefs, or click any Your move link to hand the task straight to the agent.

Good to Know

  • It fails closed. If the brief can’t be built for some reason, Every sends nothing rather than an error email — so an empty inbox on a given morning can simply mean a quiet day or a transient hiccup, not a broken brief.
  • It costs credits. Like every Heartbeat routine, each brief consumes AI credits. If your credits are exhausted when the brief is due, it’s skipped silently — see Credit Usage & Errors.
  • Continuity. The brief remembers recent days so it acknowledges ongoing items (“INV-042, now 13 days overdue — still no movement”) instead of re-introducing them each morning.
