Overview
Every uses AI tokens to power all AI features, including Every Agent conversations, file processing, client enrichment, and scheduled tasks. Tokens are the currency behind every AI interaction in Every. Your token balance is made up of two buckets:- Monthly tokens — Included with your plan, reset each billing period
- Extra tokens — Purchased separately, never expire
Manage Tokens
View your token balance, usage history, and buy extra tokens in Settings → Billing.
Monthly Tokens
Every paid plan includes a monthly token allocation that resets automatically at the start of each billing period. How it works:- Your monthly allocation refreshes to full at the start of each billing cycle
- Unused monthly tokens do not roll over — they reset each period
- You can see your remaining balance and reset date in Settings → Billing
Extra Tokens
Extra tokens are purchased on-demand and sit alongside your monthly allocation. They act as a safety net so you never lose access to AI features. Key details:- Extra tokens never expire — they stay in your account until used
- Monthly tokens are always used first; extra tokens only kick in once your monthly allocation runs out
- Available in flexible amounts starting at $5
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Buy next to your Extra Tokens balance
- Choose an amount and complete checkout
Auto-Recharge
Never run out of tokens unexpectedly. Auto-recharge automatically purchases extra tokens when your balance drops below a threshold you set. To enable:- Purchase extra tokens at least once (this saves a payment method)
- In Settings → Billing, toggle Auto recharge on
- Set your recharge threshold (when to trigger) and recharge amount (how much to buy)
What Uses Tokens
Every AI-powered action in Every consumes tokens. Here’s what counts toward your usage:Agent Conversations
Every message you send to Every Agent — and every response it generates — uses tokens. Longer, more complex conversations use more tokens than short queries. Examples:- Asking a question about your invoices
- Creating or updating records through chat
- Requesting business analysis or reports
- Multi-step workflows (e.g., “invoice all my overdue clients”)
File Processing
When Every Agent reads and extracts data from uploaded files, tokens are consumed based on the file’s size and complexity. Supported formats: PDF, Excel (XLSX/XLS), Word (DOCX), CSV, images (JPG, PNG), and text filesClient & Contact Enrichment
When you enrich a client or contact — pulling company details, contact information, and context from the web, Gmail, and Calendar — tokens are used for the AI analysis.Scheduled Tasks
Automated agent tasks that run on a schedule (daily, weekly, etc.) consume tokens each time they execute. Keep this in mind when setting up recurring automations. Background Features
Some features run AI in the background:- Receipt scanning — AI reads receipt images to extract expense details
- Business intelligence analysis — Synthesizing patterns across your data
- PDF generation — Processing invoice and proposal templates
Different AI models have different token costs. Every automatically selects the most appropriate model for each task to balance quality and efficiency.
When Tokens Run Out
If both your monthly allocation and extra token balance reach zero, AI features are paused until tokens are available again. What happens:- You’ll see a prompt to subscribe to a plan or purchase extra tokens
- Non-AI features (manually creating invoices, recording payments, etc.) continue to work normally
- Scheduled agent tasks will not execute until tokens are restored
- Buy extra tokens for immediate access
- Subscribe to a plan for a monthly allocation
- Wait for your monthly reset if you’re on a paid plan (your reset date is shown in Settings → Billing)
Monitoring Your Usage
Stay on top of your token consumption in Settings → Billing:- Monthly Tokens — Progress bar showing used vs. remaining, plus your reset date
- Extra Tokens — Current non-expiring balance
- Usage Breakdown — Detailed history of token usage by feature and date
Tips for Efficient Token Usage
- Be specific with agent requests — Clear, detailed prompts get better results in fewer back-and-forth messages
- Use offerings and templates — Pre-built templates reduce the need for AI to generate content from scratch
- Review scheduled tasks — Make sure automated tasks are set to the right frequency for your needs
- Set up auto-recharge — Avoid workflow interruptions by keeping a buffer of extra tokens
